History of the brands
Downing Teal
In 1966 Michael Downing opened Downing Teal in Perth to supply the first two iron ore projects in the Pilbara.
Assignments were quickly won from the owners and contractors of the projects and Downing Teal’s familiarity with the construction and operations of resources projects commenced. To assist with the resourcing of candidates, offices were opened in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth and the company became one of the few national recruitment consultancies.
Beilby
In 1975 Ron Beilby, an acknowledged human resources and employee relations expert, followed his instinct and insight launching a new concept in recruitment, Beilby.
Ron had a vision – he wanted to develop a consultative human resources company with a rigorous process for recruitment selection which included psychometric testing. He believed the combination of scientific assessment and professional advice would select the best new recruit for a business and provide the best environment in which to grow their long-term career.
Beilby established offices Australia wide including Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Newcastle.
