The Western Australian Treasury Corporation, a leading entity working within the finance industry with a focus on WA’s long-term economic development, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Officer to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role plays a critical role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting financial reporting processes.
For this 12-month fixed-term contract you will be responsible for the high level delivery of services and work collaboratively in identifying and implementing performance improvement initiatives within the Finance Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Perform daily and month-end reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and systems.
- Oversee accounts receivable, fixed asset management, and tax-related lodgements (GST, fringe benefits tax, etc.).
- Support internal and external audits, year-end financial statement preparation, and Treasury reporting.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements within the finance function.
What You’ll Need
- High level organisational and planning skills, including attention to detail.
- Competent Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel Intermediate to Advanced skills required.
- Demonstrated skills in a range of systems, including Business Central, FlexiPurchase and Commbiz.
- Technical accounting expertise, specialising in treasury accounting.
- Effective internal and external stakeholder engagement skills.
